Fiore Paklenica is a holiday house in Starigrad-Paklenica, where Velebit comes down to the Adriatic. Before this the owners were a listing among listings, reachable through the booking platforms and nowhere else, paying a commission on every night.

They wanted the house to have its own address. Somewhere the setting reads immediately, that opens fast for someone researching on a phone, and that speaks the languages their guests actually arrive with.

The reason most owners stay on the platforms is fear of a double booking. So the site synchronises its calendar with Booking, Airbnb and the other channels: an enquiry here and a reservation there land in the same place, and the owner stops reconciling dates by hand.

Guest reviews are pulled live from the Google profile, so the trust on the page is as current as the trust on the platform the guest just came from.

A second page covers what is near the house, from the national park ten minutes away to the beach five minutes on foot, the old towns, the waterfalls, the islands. It was the owners' idea, for the question every arriving guest asks. It also earns its keep in search, because people look for the region long before they look for a house in it.

The owners have a back office for content changes, enquiries and visitor statistics, so the house is theirs to run. The photography is theirs too.
