You can read the menu, check the prices and book a table before ever phoning.

Restoran Francesco is a Mediterranean restaurant in Sukošan, on the Zadar riviera: fresh Adriatic fish, house-made pasta, Croatian wines. Until this project it had no website at all. Guests found it by word of mouth or by walking past, and there was nowhere to see the menu, check a price, or book a table before turning up.

The brief was refreshingly plain. Answer the questions a diner actually has, which are what is on, what it costs, where is it, and how do I book. Nothing beyond that, and all of that done properly.

The menu sits on the page itself: around a dozen categories from starters and bruschette through risotto and pasta to fresh fish, meat, a children's menu and desserts, every price listed, with a tab bar so a guest jumps straight to what they came for. The wine list stays a PDF, for the people planning a pairing rather than a Tuesday.

Booking meets people wherever they already are: a form, a phone number, and a WhatsApp link that opens with the message half written. Enquiries reach the restaurant by email and are stored so none of them can quietly go missing.

The site is hand-written and fully static. For a restaurant page that changes a few times a year, that is the right tool: it opens instantly on a phone with one bar of signal down by the water, and there is no moving part to keep patched. When the menu does change, it comes through us, which is what the restaurant preferred over learning an editor they would touch twice a year.

Croatian and English, each with its own address, marked up so search engines and maps read it as a restaurant. Francesco went from nothing online to a page that shows the food, states the prices, and gets someone to a table.
