A house that competes on photographs, so we took them ourselves.

Sukošanska Vila is a holiday house with a pool in Sukošan, just down the coast from Zadar. It competes for attention with every other listing on the Adriatic, and that competition is decided almost entirely on images. A guest scrolling on a phone in Munich in February gives any one property a couple of seconds.

So we started with a camera rather than a keyboard. The photography is ours: the pool in the afternoon, the interiors, the details that make a place feel like somewhere you would want to wake up. Nothing on the site is a stock photograph of the Adriatic.

Photographs still leave the same questions unanswered. How do the rooms connect. Is the pool actually that close to the terrace. How big is it really.

We shot a 360° tour so guests can walk the house themselves, and it sits on the homepage, where guests actually land. It is the difference between showing someone a house and letting them look around it.

The site runs in Croatian, English and German, which is the market: Croatian guests, and the German-speaking families who drive down the coast every summer. Each language gets the whole site, not a translated homepage over English inner pages.

Around the house itself, the practical reasons to choose this stretch of coast. What there is to do nearby, where exactly the villa sits, and the guest reviews, which for a rental are worth more than anything the owner can say about the place.

The villa has a presence of its own: its own address, its own photography, its own tour, in the three languages its guests actually read. We host it.
